WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) today introduced The Coal Ash Landfill Safety Act (CALSA) – H.R. 4827 – to protect citizens from dangerous coal ash that will be disposed in municipal landfills that are not equipped to handle the toxic substance.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Armed Services Committee Member Hank Johnson released the following statement in response to today’s terror attacks:
“We stand united with our Belgian brothers and sisters and all humanity against such a bankrupt ideology of horror, extremism and cowardly violence. I join the President and all American officials in condemning this senseless act and pledge the full cooperation and support of the United States of America to help bring these criminals to justice.”

Hank Johnson (GA-04) sent the following letter to U.S. Commission on Civil Rights urging them to recommend that more be done to protect citizens from the possibility that noxious coal ash could be disposed of in municipal landfills that are not equipped to handle the toxic substance. Unused coal ash contains toxic chemicals, including cancer-causing agents.
