I’m pleased to announce that I was renamed Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law (RRCAL) last week.

I have long supported competition, consumer welfare, and workers’ rights. I look forward to building on these issues and expanding into new areas in the 114th Congress.

Since Open Enrollment began on Nov. 15, 2014, 7.75 million consumers selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled through the HealthCare.gov platform, including 468,464 in Georgia.

Isaac Newton once said, "If I see farther it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants." As someone who has witnessed the evolution of race relations in this country, I can proudly say that as a member of Congress that's what I'm doing.

Over the past month, U.S. House and Senate Republicans have launched a series of investigations into the Federal Communications Commission's independence in crafting strong net neutrality rules, accusing President Obama of improper influence over the FCC's rulemaking.

By now we have all heard the news of the tragic loss of Governor Deal’s staffer, Mack Burgess in an accident earlier this week. Toby Carr and many others are attending his funeral today, which necessitated a change in the program. Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends.
