He consistently advocates for diplomacy first while ensuring that American forces are fully equipped and that veterans receive the best possible support. Hank has voted to sustain critical services for veterans, introduced legislation to honor military families, and supported bills extending benefits to veterans and their families. His ongoing work includes championing legislation to provide access to services and funding that reflect the sacrifices of our service members.

LITHONIA, GA – On February 22, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) hosted his “Future of the Fourth” reception at the Lou Walker Senior Center to honor outstanding young leaders from Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District. DECATUR, GA – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) hosted the Fifth Annual Unsung Heroes Awards Program on Sunday, Nov. 17, recognizing 15 exceptional individuals from Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District for their selfless contributions to the community. The event, held at Legacy Park in Decatur, celebrated the dedication and impact of these individuals across DeKalb, Rockdale, and Newton counties.

The bill delivers historic investments in American families and workers while strengthening Democracy at home and abroad. This legislation was passed by the Senate yesterday – and was passed in the House today. It will now head to the President’s desk for signature. It funds the federal government until Sept. 2023.

The debt that we owe to them is immeasurable. Their sacrifices and those of their families are the foundation of our freedom. Without the brave efforts of all the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen and their families, our country would not be free.
