The Congressional App Challenge
I am pleased to announce that the Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding, will take place from May 1 through October 26, 2026. Judging will take place from October 28 through November 22, 2026, and winners will be announced and all applicants notified of their application status no later than December 31, 2026. Officially launched by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, this nationwide effort allows students to compete against their peers by creating and an application or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The Challenge is designed to promote innovation and engagement in coding and computer science.
The Congressional App Challenge is open to all students in the 4th Congressional District of Georgia.
Students interested in competing in this year's challenge should check for details HERE.
Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
- Quality of the idea, including creativity and originality;
- Implementation of the idea, including user experience and design;
- Demonstrated excellence of coding and programming skills.
- The winner from the 4th Congressional District, chosen by a panel of expert judges, will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us, and the winning app will also be on display in the U.S. Capitol, honoring the winners from across the country.
