Dear Friends,
On Thursday, April 2 from 5-6 PM, I'm hosting my second telephone town hall on COVID-19. I'll be calling more than 50,000 residents in Georgia's Fourth District to answer your questions and listen to your concerns.
Federal Response
The federal government has declared a public health emergency and urges all Americans to exercise caution. In Congress, we have passed two bills to address this crisis. And I'm going to Washington, D.C. right now to vote on the third – a $2 trillion stimulus that will save lives and help support families, workers and small businesses.
Dear Friends,
COVID-19 is quickly changing our daily lives – from how we shop and go to school, to how we work, worship and travel – every aspect of our lives is being touched by the coronavirus pandemic. That's why I committed to working with our federal, state and local partners to continue bringing you the most relevant and updated information possible to help keep you and your family safe during this difficult time. And it's why I will continue to pass legislation in Washington to help us deal with this crisis.
Dear Friends,
I'm holding a Restoration Resources Fair for ex-offenders, the previously incarcerated, returning citizens or those just caught up in the system on Thursday, February 20 from 10 am to 2 pm at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Clarkston – 495 North Indian Creek Drive.
Dear Friends,
I hope everyone had a very happy and healthy holiday season. We've had a very busy start to 2020 so let's catch up.
Dear Friends,
I want to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Kwanza, Happy Hanukkah and a very happy holiday season. At times, it's been a difficult year here in Georgia, but I deeply believe we've done work we can be proud of that will build a strong foundation for the coming year. I am, and continue to be, humbled by the opportunity to represent your voice in Congress, and know that together we cannot just overcome but thrive and prosper. I hope you and yours have a wonderful and restful holiday and a Happy New Year!
Dear Veterans and families,
Every Veterans Day, Americans come together to remember those who have served our country around the world in the name of freedom and democracy.
The debt we owe you is immeasurable. Your sacrifices, and those of your families, are freedom's foundation. Without the brave efforts of all of you -- soldiers, sailors, airmen and women, Marines and Coast Guardsmen and women and your families -- our country would not be free.
When I was first elected to Congress in 2007, I made the pledge of "Taking Care of Home First."
Dear Friends,
Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who attended our town halls this month in Conyers and Covington or who tuned in on our Facebook live feed. We had four successful town halls in every county in the Fourth District, and I thank everyone who participated. We had four excellent discussions on the issues of the day. I'll be conducting telephone town halls in the near future, and we're holding a Twitter town hall on Nov. 6 from 3:30-4:40 PM. I'll have more details on those upcoming town halls soon.
