Dear Friends,

COVID-19 is quickly changing our daily lives – from how we shop and go to school, to how we work, worship and travel – every aspect of our lives is being touched by the coronavirus pandemic. That's why I committed to working with our federal, state and local partners to continue bringing you the most relevant and updated information possible to help keep you and your family safe during this difficult time. And it's why I will continue to pass legislation in Washington to help us deal with this crisis.

On Monday, March 16, I held an informational telephone town hall on COVID-19. We called more than 75,000 people in Georgia's Fourth District to answer your questions and listen to your concerns. We had experts from Emory University, the DeKalb County Board of Health, Oakhurst Medical Center, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and DeKalb Schools on the call to address participants questions and discuss the best way to protect you and your family and to prevent the spread of the disease.

I pledge to continue using this platform to communicate critical information with my constituents during this difficult time and beyond. I'll be reaching out as we prepare for the next event that will include experts from the state of Georgia and Gwinnett, Rockdale, Newton and DeKalb counties.

I've also instructed staff to create one-stop webpage on how to protect you and your family, help halt the spread of disease, provide information on what bills Congress is passing to help alleviate the crisis and how people who are already affected economically by this crisis can get the help they need to weather the storm. We'll be constantly updating this page with the latest information. For more, click HERE.

CONSTITUENT SERVICES: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, my district office is enacting new measures to protect the health and safety of our community, which is our top priority. We will continue serving constituents via e-mail and phone but will discontinue in-office meetings for the foreseeable future. If you need help with a federal agency, we remain on duty. Just call 770-987-2291 and we will direct you to the appropriate constituent services representative to work your case to the best of our ability.

2020 CENSUS: The 2020 count has begun. You should have received your notice in the mail prompting you and your household to complete it online. Due to the pandemic, Census workers who usually go door-to-door to make sure you complete the form will be suspended until at least April 1, 2020. It's another great reason for everyone to go online and fill out the brief form at https://2020census.gov. If you have not received your 2020 Census ID, go to https://my2020census.gov and click "Start Questionnaire" then click "If you do not have a Census ID" and it will take you through the process. With the flexibility and support of the American people, we will achieve a complete and accurate count which helps guide funding decisions for things like hospitals, roads and emergency services.

VETERANS & THE VA & THE IRS: Due to COVID-19, the Veterans Administration is asking constituents to consult the VA's public-facing website for the most current information HERE. The Internal Revenue Service is also extending the payment deadline for some tax filers. For more information on how the IRS is responding to the crisis, click HERE.

As always, I appreciate your time and feedback. Please remember you can reach me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as e-mails, phone calls and letters. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to represent you in Congress. Together, we will overcome this crisis.
