Congressman Johnson welcomes return of 2016 Congressional Arts Competition; scholarships worth $20,000 at stake

LITHONIA, GA – Rep. Hank Johnson looks forward to hosting this year’s 2016 Congressional Arts Competition, an annual event displaying the community’s finest young artists.

Since 2007, Rep. Johnson has awarded $272,000 in arts scholarships to more than 30 Fourth District students.

Congressman’s bill has support from entire Georgia House delegation; Resolution now goes to Senate for approval

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Johnson announced today that the bipartisan resolution to rename the Pine Lake Post Office at Rockbridge Road and Spring Drive in honor of fallen police officer Francis Manuel Ortega passed the U.S. House of Representatives.

Congressman will host Horton’s Kids students to discuss STEM education via Twitter’s live stream app

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 7-7:30 p.m., Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) will host 15 middle-school students/mentees from the Horton’s Kids mentoring program – a community-based organization that serves 500 children, grades K through 12, living in an underserved area of Washington, D.C.

LITHONIA, GA – On Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) recognized the top three students of his inaugural App Challenge—a competition that encourages U.S. high school students to create their own mobile applications.
Three Stone Mountain High School students swept the competition.

Rep. Johnson connects constituents with community resources, holds film & television industry forum

CLARKSTON, GA – Hundreds of residents descended on Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Clarkston on Thursday to attend Rep. Hank Johnson’s Resources Fair, which helped connect constituents with local, state and federal agencies that provided job-readiness training, information on the television/film industry and employment opportunities.

Congressman hosts top three winners of inaugural App Challenge

LITHONIA, GA – On Friday, Feb. 19 Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) is hosting the top three students of his inaugural App Challenge—a competition that encourages U.S. high school students to create their own mobile applications.

Johnson’s office collected more than 20 submissions from high schools in the Fourth District, which includes parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Newton and all of Rockdale County.
