I was proud to vote against the 33rd attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act this week.

Happy Fourth of July! All across our great country and the Fourth Congressional District, folks will be coming together, celebrating our independence and freedom, decked out in their red and white and blue, firing up the grill and having a good time with family.

After more than a century of debate, the American people won a historic victory yesterday when the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act.

Immediately after the law was passed by Congress and signed by the President in 2010, opponents of health care reform mounted legal challenges to repeal that progress.

It was great to spend part of the Father's Day weekend at the Proud Fathers' Rally in support of President Obama's Fatherhood & Mentoring initiative. Thank you to my frat brothers of Omega Psi Phi and everyone who took time out of their busy weekend to participate.

It was an honor to spend Memorial Day with the American Legion Post 77 family in Conyers on May 28.
