SNELLVILLE—On April 12, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) visited Brookwood High School to congratulate 17-year-old Niheer Patel as the winner of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge.
DECATUR—On April 13th Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), hosted a four-stop tour to highlight his successful effort to secure nearly $5 million in funding for Community Projects throughout Georgia's Fourth Congressional District.
This funding, included in federal fiscal year (FY) 2022 appropriations, responds directly to several pressing needs in the district.
The stops celebrated in the government funding package tour highlighted $2 million in funds to benefit DeKalb County:
Congressman Henry "Hank" Johnson (GA-04) is encouraging 9th – 12th grade high school students, living or attending high school in the district, to submit their art creations as part of this year's Congressional Art Competition.
"Art can have so many interpretations and cross so many boundaries, while still bringing folks together. This annual competition allows our students to share a piece of their lives with us through their works," said Johnson. "Whether it be a message of protest or one of strictly fun and pleasantries; I look forward to what our students will put forth."

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) today re-introduced the Minorities in Aviation Education Act, H.R. 6841, which would create a grant program aimed at improving the preparation and representation of minorities in aviation-related fields.
The new grant program, administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will be named for Bessie Coleman, an American aviator and the first black woman to earn a pilot's license.
