"It's certainly symbolic of what he did, trying to take us back to those times on the plantation by signing that legislation," Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) said in an interview. "That's representational of the Old South. The New South was represented on Nov. 3 and Jan. 5, when we elected President Biden in Georgia and when we elected two United States senators. … The New South will not be defeated."
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) sent a letter to the Inspector General at the U.S. Department Health and Human Services(HHS) as part of their ongoing investigation into COVID-19-related deaths in nursing homes.
U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., recently recognized Gwinnett Sheriff Keybo Taylor as a pioneer, highlighting his role as the first African-American to serve as the county's top lawman in Gwinnett's more than 202-year history.
Taylor was one of four sheriffs in the 4th Congressional District who received a Pioneer Award from Johnson — the others being DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox, Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown and Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett.

DECATUR, GA – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced that two Fourth District Community Health Centers will receive a total of $6.5 million in American Rescue Plan funds to expand their COVID-19 vaccination and treatment operations. The resources are part of the American Rescue Plan's investments to expand access to vaccines in underserved communities.
Fourth District-based federal community health centers receiving funds:
• Oakhurst Medical Centers of Stone Mountain: $5,481,500
• Recovery Consultants, Inc. of Decatur: $976,875
