I have a busy slate of committee hearings based out of Washington and important events that I'm holding and attending here at home as well.
So far this week, I participated in an Oversight & Reform Committee hearing on D.C. Statehood, which by the way as a native Washingtonian and civil rights champion, I support.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) voted to pass H.R. 1620, a bipartisan, long-term Violence Against Women Act reauthorization. The landmark Violence Against Women Act of 1994 ushered in transformative progress by calling for the protection of all Americans from violence and abuse and working to ensure all victims and survivors have the support they need. This critical reauthorization will safeguard and further strengthen these life-saving protections for women throughout Georgia and across the country.
DECATUR, GA – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), announced Georgia recently received $552 million from the U.S. Treasury's Federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program under the historic American Rescue Plan.
Because only larger metro Atlanta counties received COVID-19 relief funding under the CARES Act in 2020, residents in counties such as Rockdale and Newton could not get relief.
