So far this week, I participated in an Oversight & Reform Committee hearing on D.C. Statehood, which by the way as a native Washingtonian and civil rights champion, I support.

WASHINGTON, D.C.Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) voted to pass H.R. 1620, a bipartisan, long-term Violence Against Women Act reauthorization. The landmark Violence Against Women Act of 1994 ushered in transformative progress by calling for the protection of all Americans from violence and abuse and working to ensure all victims and survivors have the support they need. This critical reauthorization will safeguard and further strengthen these life-saving protections for women throughout Georgia and across the country.

DECATUR, GA – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), announced Georgia recently received $552 million from the U.S. Treasury's Federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program under the historic American Rescue Plan.

Because only larger metro Atlanta counties received COVID-19 relief funding under the CARES Act in 2020, residents in counties such as Rockdale and Newton could not get relief.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, Rep. Johnson joined fellow Democrats to pass the landmark American Rescue Plan and send it to President Biden's desk for his signature. Today, Rep. Johnson proudly highlights the vital resources that Georgia families and communities will receive to crush the virus, put vaccines in people's arms, money in people's pockets, children safely back in school and workers back in jobs.

LITHONIA, GA – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) joined U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson and Stonecrest Mayor Jason Lary for a site visit of Emory Hillandale Hospital in South DeKalb.

Emory Hospital officials and medical professionals, including Hospital Group President Bryce Gartland and Emory Hillandale CEO Jim Forstner, briefed the delegation on their COVID-19 response and how the hospital system is dealing with the pandemic.

DECATUR—Congressman Henry "Hank" Johnson (GA-04) is encouraging 9th – 12th grade high school students, living or attending high school in the district, to submit their art creations as part of this year's Congressional Art Competition.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) voted to pass H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and H.R. 1446, the Enhanced Background Checks Act, two commonsense gun violence prevention measures to require background checks on all gun sales and close the Charleston Loophole that allowed the hate crime at Mother Emanuel AME Church.

The historic PRO Act will help rebuild the middle class by protecting workers' basic right to join a union, holding employers accountable for violating workers' rights and securing free, fair and safe union elections.
