A delegation of six Congressmembers from the U.S. House of Representatives met today with President Geingob to encourage U.S.-Namibia partnership on global health, security, bilateral trade, climate change, racial justice, and other priorities that the two democracies share.

The delegation is led by Congressmember Karen Bass of California, who is the Chair of the House of Representatives' Sub-Committee on Africa, Global Health, and Global Human Rights. She and five other Congressmembers arrived in Namibia on Thursday during a visit to the region.

Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet and Congressman Ken Buck (CO-04), Ranking Member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law, have introduced the Open App Markets Act, which would "level the playing field for small app developers, strengthen consumer choice within the app marketplace, and ensure that antitrust laws are working properly in the digital ecosystem."

WASHINGTON — At the base of the bridge in Selma, Ala., where the late U.S. Rep. John Lewis of Georgia almost died while marching for civil rights, congressional Democrats announced Tuesday the introduction of legislation that aims to protect voting rights across the country.

Rep. Terri Sewell, an Alabama Democrat, unveiled what will be designated as H.R. 4, the John Lewis Voting Rights and Advancement Act.
