WASHINGTON, D.C.—This week, U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson voted to pass bipartisan, bicameral legislation to end forced arbitration for sexual harassment and assault survivors nationwide.

The Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act, H.R. 4445, will void forced arbitration agreements in any contract if a sexual assault or harassment claim is brought.

Georgia U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson is pressing state and federal transportation leaders to re-think plans to expand the 285 and I-20 interchange east of Atlanta, citing both equity and environmental concerns.

He favors extending heavy rail service to the area instead.

"I am concerned that the project reflects an outdated road-centric approach," Rep. Johnson wrote to Georgia Department of Transportation commissioner Russell McMurry "[It] focuses solely on reducing traffic congestion through new roadway capacity rather than improving overall mobility for area residents."

Georgia's Democratic Congressional Delegation recently sent a letter to Emily Dunn, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) chairwoman, urging the agency to expand public transit statewide.

The delegation urged GDOT to use funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which created flexibility in existing funding programs for states to invest in public transit.
