Congressman Johnson, CredAbility, DCA are hosting community event to help struggling homeowners

LITHONIA, GA – On Saturday, Oct. 5, Congressman Hank Johnson is hosting a community event to help struggling homeowners avoid foreclosure.

In conjunction with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ HomeSafe Georgia program and certified credit counselors CredAbility, Rep. Johnson is holding the free events to help struggling homeowners. The event will be held at Salem Bible Church in Lithonia, 5460 Hillandale Drive, Lithonia, GA 30058.

CONYERS, GA – More than 100 homeowners participated in Saturday’s HomeSafe Georgia foreclosure prevention event at Springfield Baptist Church in Conyers hosted by Rep. Hank Johnson, along with representatives from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and HUD-approved counseling agency D&E.

Congressman: Federal funds to help county hire 10 additional officers

Legislation updates battlefield trauma training methods phasing out live animals use; Sen. Ron Wyden introduces Senate version

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Hank Johnson (GA-04) introduced a bipartisan bill today addressing the use of live animals in military battlefield trauma training exercises.

The Battlefield Excellence through Superior Training Practices Act of 2013 (H.R. 3172) or BEST Practices Act, prohibits the use of animals in live combat trauma injury and chemical and biological training after 2016.

LITHONIA, GA – On Friday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) will hold a free information event on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at Georgia Piedmont Technical College on North Indian Creek Drive in Clarkson.

Small business owners and individuals can receive help applying for health insurance through the marketplace exchanges created under the ACA. Certified community health centers and navigators will assist qualified applicants.

LITHONIA, GA – On Monday, Sept. 23, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) will hold a Meet & Greet for senior citizens at Snellville City Hall on Oak Road.

The event will help seniors navigate through the often confusing and complicated process of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, IRS and the Veterans Administration. Officials from each department will be on hand to assist seniors.
