WASHINGTON, D.C. — As negotiations on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework and the reconciliation package continue, Congressmen Hank Johnson (GA-04) and Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04), both members of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, led 60 colleagues in sending a letter to President Joe Biden and congressional leadership today insisting on a final bill that addresses the climate crisis and existing racial inequities by robustly funding public transportation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) defended consumers and businesses victimized by scams and fraud by voting for H.R. 2668, the Consumer Protection and Recovery Act. This legislation restores the authority of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to take lawbreakers to court and recover stolen funds for victims of scam, fraud and other illegal activities. The agency had exercised this power for more than 40 years before the Supreme Court stripped this authority in April.

ATLANTA, GA—For the July 14 national roll-out of the Child Tax Credit, Rep. Johnson teamed up with local non-profit Our House, the United Way and the IRS to encourage families to be on the lookout for advance monthly payments of the Child Tax Credit of up to $300 per month per child from now through December.

The Emergency Connectivity Fund is an innovative new program that provides funding for schools and libraries for equipment and services their communities need for remote learning.
