Congressman Johnson is a senior member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (T&I). Congressman Johnson has focused on transportation equity – which will ensure that low income Americans will have access to safe and reliable transportation. In addressing critical infrastructure needs of Georgia, he states that "Federal investments should include funds supporting state efforts to add additional standard and HOV lanes to major highways in the metro Atlanta region as well as other major causeways throughout the state." He has been a strong advocate for MARTA rail expansion into south DeKalb. Congressman Johnson has led a push to prioritize public transit investments in Georgia.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – After 24-hours debating and marking up legislation, the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (T&I) passed the surface transportation reauthorization bill late Thursday night – the INVEST in America Act – Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America Act out of committee.

Thank you to everyone who attended our town halls this month in Conyers and Covington or who tuned in on our Facebook live feed. We had four successful town halls in every county in the Fourth District, and I thank everyone who participated. We had four excellent discussions on the issues of the day.
