WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced that he secured the inclusion of more than $15 million for 13 community projects in Georgia's Fourth District in the FY23 appropriations – Congress's annual spending plan.

The inclusion of this funding in the Appropriations Committee bills is the first step in the budgetary process.

The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act will help bring down prices for Georgians in the grocery aisle and at the gas pump by giving American farmers and ranchers the support they need to thrive.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) introduced the Small Business Contracting Fairness Act of 2022, critical legislation to standardize treatment of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) within the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). The bill would strengthen the U.S. Department of Transportation's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program to help more minority and women-owned small businesses compete for contracts and competitive funding opportunities.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) voted for bipartisan legislation to ease the burden of rising costs on Georgia families and small businesses, while also boosting American exporters' ability to efficiently deliver products to the global marketplace. The Ocean Shipping Reform Act will crack down on exorbitant fees being charged by international shipping companies and prevent American-made goods from being left on the dock. Previously passed by the Senate, this legislation now heads to the President's desk.

Amid the strongest job growth in modern times, these investments will connect Georgians to a record number of job openings – bringing workers off the sidelines, increasing production and lowering the cost of key goods.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) and Rep. Grace Meng (NY-06) introduced a bipartisan resolution to designate April 30 as National Adult Hepatitis B Vaccination Awareness Day.

H. Res. 1072 has the support of 13 other members in the House. Senator Mazie Hirono (HI) introduced the Senate companion resolution – S. Res. 602.


April 22, 2022

Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced that Georgia will receive $9.5 million in federal funds to bring down heating and cooling costs for working families. These investments, secured through last month's government funding legislation, will be used to slash Georgians' energy bills, provide crisis assistance and help weatherize homes.
