WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Hank Johnson (GA-04) released the following statement on his vote against the GOP's 2012 budget proposal:

“We must not balance our books on the backs of seniors, college students, the shrinking middle class and the poor, who are struggling in this economy. There’s no doubt, we have to live within our means, get back to the Clinton-era path that allowed us to pay down our debt and reduce our deficit. Nothing should be taken off the table, including defense spending and ending tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires and Big Oil.”

Congressman: Tucker-based domestic violence center ‘doing the extraordinary’

TUCKER, GA – Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) today congratulated Tapestri Inc. for receiving a $300,000 grant from the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office on Violence Against Women to fight sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.

Tapestri is one of the metro Atlanta’s leading community-based organizations working to end violence and oppression in refugee and immigrant communities.

The one-time grant was awarded April 11.

El Congresista habla sobre seguro de salud, Seguro Social y Medicare a las personas de la tercera edad

Lithonia, GA – el día 23 de marzo el Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) visitó el Centro Lou Walker de Personas Mayores en el primer aniversario de la firma del Presidente Obama del Acta de Atención de Salud Asequible (“Affordable Care Act”), lo que convirtió el acta en ley.

Johnson habló con personas de la tercera edad sobre el futuro de la Seguridad Social y Medicare, y el estado de la ley de Atención de Salud Asequible en su primer aniversario.
