WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Federal Communications Commission voted on Thursday to begin the process of formally setting new net neutrality rules for online traffic that could have major implications for how companies reach consumers on the Internet. Rep. Hank Johnson, ranking member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee with jurisdiction over antitrust and competition, released the following statement after the FCC vote:

Henry C. “Hank” Johnson, Jr. (D-GA) today made the following statement during the hearing on a proposed merger between Comcast and Time Warner Cable in the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law (RRCAL). Rep. Johnson is the ranking member of the RRCAL Subcommittee, which exercises jurisdiction over antitrust laws and competition.
