WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced today he earned a 91 percent from The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) on their 2014 National Environmental Scorecard, which tallies the performance of every member of Congress every year on key environmental votes.

Rep. Johnson’s lifetime score is 94 percent, the highest in the Georgia delegation. His score of 91 percent for 2014 tied Civil Rights legend Rep. John Lewis.

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, every day I’m inspired to work on behalf of all our military personnel and veterans.

My work as a member of Congress on behalf of veterans is two-fold: In Washington, I have consistently proposed or voted to help increase awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), boost mental health funding, decrease homelessness and increase job opportunities for our veterans.

Since Open Enrollment began on Nov. 15, 2014, 7.75 million consumers selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled through the HealthCare.gov platform, including 468,464 in Georgia.

This Sunday, Feb. 15, marks the deadline and end of Open Enrollment for the 2015 Health Insurance Marketplaces. It is important for individuals in Georgia who have not yet signed up for coverage to visit Healthcare.gov before the Feb. 15 deadline.

By now we have all heard the news of the tragic loss of Governor Deal’s staffer, Mack Burgess in an accident earlier this week. Toby Carr and many others are attending his funeral today, which necessitated a change in the program. Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends.

I am honored to pinch hit because I have championed PCIDs’ efforts and been a partner with them since their inception 14 years ago.
