WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet, released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the next Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Reps. David Scott (GA-13), Hank Johnson (GA-04) and Nikema Williams (GA-05) announced today that three organizations in DeKalb County, Decatur and Atlanta will receive a total of more than $2.1 million in Public Health AmeriCorps funding from AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism.

The grants will support 87 Public Health AmeriCorps members in Congressional Districts 4, 5 and 13.

The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement [MORE] Act will expunge the records of those harmed by cannabis criminalization, create opportunities for all to participate in the legal cannabis industry and decriminalize cannabis at the federal level.

By capping out-of-pocket expenses, the Affordable Insulin Now Act will ensure that Georgians pay no more than $35 for a monthly supply of insulin.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) voted to impose new economic punishments for Russia's continued attacks on the people of Ukraine, as well as Belarus' support for Russia's unprovoked invasion. The Suspending Normal Trade Relations with Russia and Belarus Act counters Russia's unconscionable actions and Belarus' complicity by suspending normal trade relations with both countries. This legislation will allow President Biden to raise tariffs on Russian and Belarusian goods, further isolating their economies and cutting off funds for Vladimir Putin's heinous war.

Jon Ossoff (GA), introduced the Access to Justice Act, which would establish a federal public defender's office in the Southern District of Georgia, the Eastern District of Kentucky, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
