I'm holding my first town hall of the series at the Lou Walker Senior Center on Tuesday, August 13th. On Thursday, September 5th I'll be at Snellville City Hall. On Tuesday, October 8, I'll be at the Rockdale Career Academy and on Thursday, October 10th I'll be at the Newton County Courthouse.

DECATUR, GA – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), chair of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet, is seeking answers from Georgia officials after Georgia Department of Community Health temporarily cut off Medicaid benefits recently to thousands of elderly and disabled Georgians.

Johnson voted to pass H.R 987, the Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act, a major piece of legislation that addresses two top concerns of the American people – lowering prescription drug prices and defending vital protections for people with pre-existing conditions. This bill is a critical component of the For The People agenda.

Johnson voted to pass H.R. 986, the Protecting Americans with Pre-Existing Conditions Act, to block the Trump Administration's dangerous October 2018 guidance that gives states the ability to weaken the Affordable Care Act's critical protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions.

Democrats on Wednesday accused the president of undermining the fight against the opioid epidemic through his efforts to scrap the Affordable Care Act.
"The bottom line is that Trump is trying to talk out of both sides of his mouth on opioid abuse," said U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Lithonia, said in a prepared statement.
State Sen. Nan Orrock, D-Atlanta, agreed with Johnson.
