LITHONIA, GA – On Saturday, April 29th at 11 a.m., Rep Hank Johnson (GA-04), will be hosting the 2017 Congressional Arts Competition Reception for high school students in the Fourth Congressional District.

The annual event will be held at the Lou Walker Senior Center. Congressman Johnson is excited about showcasing some great young artists.

Each year thousands of dollars in scholarships from SCAD and the Art Institute of Atlanta, are given to students across the district. Last year the competition awarded four college scholarships worth a total of $35,000.

The event was held to hold the GOP accountable for their budget that calls for drastic cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and dismantling the Affordable Care Act.
