WASHINGTON, D.C.—You may be eligible for a larger tax refund this year because of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). But to get it, you must file a tax return and claim it.
Today, January 28, 2022, marks the 16th anniversary of Awareness Day, a nationwide effort to increase awareness about EITC and free tax preparation sites.
Democrats in Georgia's congressional delegation are asking the state's Department of Transportation to outline how it will use funding and new flexibilities outlined in the $1.2 trillion federal infrastructure package to boost the state's public transit system.
Georgia is set to receive nearly $1.4 billion over five years from the package for public transportation — including $923 million for metro Atlanta. Though the law attracted bipartisan support, every GOP member of Georgia's congressional delegation opposed it.

He is comfortable, self-isolating, following the Office of Attending Physician's directions and in the process of contact tracing. The Congressman felt symptomatic and took a rapid at-home test. He is awaiting results from a PCR test.

Today Marks the First Time in Six Months Hardworking Families Will Not Receive This Transformational Tax Cut
DECATUR, GA – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) marked the first time in six months that families will not receive the expanded and improved monthly Child Tax Credit (CTC) due to Senate inaction on the Build Back Better Act.
From July to December 2021, more than two million Georgia children received payments, totaling $3.23 million in benefits across the state.
