DECATUR, GA – For the fifth time in 30 years, Republicans have shut down the federal government. As the nation braces for the Trump Shutdown, Rep. Johnson (GA-04) called out Republicans for failing to allow a bipartisan solution to keep government open and meet the needs of the American people.

The subcommittee has jurisdiction over administration of U.S. Courts, federal rules of evidence, civil and appellate procedure, judicial ethics, patent, copyright and trademark law, information technology and the Internet.

"King Day 2018 brings to mind how tenuous the freedoms gained from scores of years of progress can be squandered should we fail to learn the lessons of history. Today, as I attend and participate in parades throughout the district, I'm reminded that if we apply what history has taught to today's reality, then like Dr. King we will let freedom ring.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced Tuesday that he was elected by his peers to lead the Judiciary Subcommittee – Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet.
