WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Valentine's Day, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) sent a love letter to people of color throughout the world by reintroducing a resolution to designate the ten years between January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2024, as the "International Decade for People of African Descent."
"The real emergency is the Constitutional crisis that Trump is creating," said Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA).
She continued, "To Congressman Henry C. "Hank" Johnson, Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasia-Cortez & each and every politician or public figure that stepped up and presented letters and made statements in defense of my son."
U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Lithonia, joined many of his Democratic colleagues in lambasting the move.
The announcement prompted loud criticism from many Democrats, including Lithonia U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson.
"It's a sad day for the nation when one man can falsely claim there is a national emergency simply to untangle himself from a political problem of his own making," he said.
