CONYERS, GA – More than 300 Fourth District residents attended Rep. Hank Johnson’s (GA-04) and Rockdale County’s job fair in Conyers on July 9 at the Rockdale County Career Academy.

CONYERS, GA – Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced today he will open a Conyers office for constituent services on Tuesday, July 13.

The office is located in Conyers City Hall in Rockdale County at 1184 Scott Street, Conyers, Georgia, 30012. The office will be open for business the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“As Rockdale County continues to grow and thrive, we felt that we must do all we can to reach out,” said Rep. Johnson. “This way Rockdale citizen will have more options when receiving help with federal agencies.”

Today, HHS announced the establishment of a new Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) that will offer coverage to uninsured Americans who have been unable to obtain health coverage because of a pre-existing health condition.

‘Consumer Protection Agency’ to protect families, small businesses:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Hank Johnson today voted to protect consumers by reining in Wall Street and big banks that under President George W. Bush ran amok with no accountability and cost the nation 8 million jobs.

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act creates a new Consumer Financial Protection Agency to protect families and small businesses by ensuring that bank loans, mortgages and credit cards are fair, affordable, understandable and transparent.

‘Jobs are the No. 1 priority in our community’:

CONYERS, GA – Rep. Hank Johnson is holding his third Career Expo in the past 14 months to help residents find work, plan a new career or bolster their interviewing skills. The expo is Friday, July 9 at the Rockdale County Career Academy in Conyers.

The expo is being held in conjunction with Rockdale County.

With Rockdale County’s unemployment rate hovering around 12 percent and DeKalb County at 10.7 percent, Johnson said it’s important to continue bringing federal investment to our community.

House Republicans unsuccessfully fight effort to reduce corporate, foreign influence in U.S. elections:

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson voted for the DISCLOSE Act, a bill to reduce corporate and foreign influence in U.S. elections by tightening disclosure and transparency requirements. The legislation narrowly passed the House of Representatives. Only two Republicans voted for the bill.
