WASHINGTON, D.C.—The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed an important amendment sponsored by Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA), which extends all nine Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) exemptions to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The amendment, which passed (410-5) was part of H.R. 1694, a bill that would amend the FOIA to make its provisions apply to these entities when they are in federal conservatorship or receivership.
