Congressman Hank Johnson on the appointment of Robert Mueller

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Hank Johnson, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, released this statement on the appointment of Robert Mueller to investigate Russian meddling:

"I applaud the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as Special Counsel to investigate Russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election. With every passing day, the scope of the Russia-gate scandal continues to mushroom," said Congressman Johnson. "Americans are coming to a realization that impeachment may be inevitable. Congress must exercise its constitutional responsibility to act as a check against unbridled executive power."
