Rep. Johnson awards $35,000 in college scholarships from Art Institute of Atlanta and SCAD; South Gwinnett students nearly complete clean sweep

DECATUR, GA — Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced the winners of his 2021 Congressional Arts Competition and awarded four college scholarships worth a total of $35,000 on April 24 in a virtual ceremony.

In this year’s competition, there were more than 36 entries from nine high schools in DeKalb, Rockdale, Newton and Gwinnett counties.

Representative Says Many Georgians Who Receive Veterans’ Benefits and Have Not Yet Received Their Economic Impact Payment

DECATUR, GA—Congressman Henry “Hank” Johnson announced today that many Georgians who receive Veterans’ benefits could expect Economic Impact Payments of up to $1,400 hit their bank accounts beginning this week.

Many Georgians have already received Economic Impact Payments as part of the American Rescue Plan that Rep. Johnson helped pass into law.
