DECATUR, GA — Congressman Henry "Hank" Johnson announced today that FEMA is accepting applications for funeral assistance for Georgians who have lost loved ones to COVID-19. Rep. Johnson helped pass the funeral assistance program as part of the American Rescue Plan and recently held a virtual teach in on April 7 to educate constituents on this and other relief provided in the law.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee and Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet, announced he is returning as a senior whip for the 117th Congress.

This week, U.S. House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-SC, announced that Rep. Johnson will serve as a senior whip, a role the Atlanta congressman had last year.

DECATUR, GA – Today, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced that two Fourth District Community Health Centers will receive a total of $6.5 million in American Rescue Plan funds to expand their COVID-19 vaccination and treatment operations. The resources are part of the American Rescue Plan's investments to expand access to vaccines in underserved communities.

Fourth District-based federal community health centers receiving funds:

• Oakhurst Medical Centers of Stone Mountain: $5,481,500

• Recovery Consultants, Inc. of Decatur: $976,875

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04) sent a letter to President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. urging him to issue an executive order to de-militarize law enforcement agencies across the country.

Congressman Johnson, sponsor of the Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act (SMLEA) since 2014, said a well-executed executive order that reflects the language of his bill would be: "a reasonable step towards demilitarizing our police forces while preserving the safety of our communities."

DECATUR, GA — On Wednesday, April 7, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) is holding a virtual "Teach-In" event to lift up the life-saving resources contained in the American Rescue Plan. The Teach-In will help people understand how they can benefit from the various provisions of the bill – connecting constituents with resources.

DECATUR, GA — On Monday, March 29, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) presented 11 women in Georgia's Fourth District with "Trailblazer" awards in recognition of their pioneering careers and service to the greater community.
