To say 2020 has been a challenging year is an understatement. Many of us have lost loved ones and all of us have faced hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic during this difficult and trying year.
The good news is vaccines are now being administered to frontline and healthcare workers – and will soon be available to senior citizens and people with underlying conditions. By the spring and summer, younger and healthier people should be able to get vaccinated as well.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) returned to Washington this week to vote on a stand-alone bill to increase economic impact payments to $2,000 for Americans struggling during the pandemic.
The bill passed the House 275-134 and now goes to the Senate.
"There's a light at the end of the tunnel, but until we get there Americans struggling to pay rent, put food on the table and stay healthy need our help," said Rep. Johnson. "This money will go a long way in helping make people whole during this difficult time."
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Thursday, Rep. Johnson voted in favor of a War Powers Resolution to limit President Trump's military actions regarding Iran. This resolution reiterates that only Congress can declare war and affirms that Congress has not authorized the use of military force against Iran. Hence, it states that if no further Congressional action is taken, the Administration's military hostilities with regard to Iran must end.

Seven men who conducted murder of environmental & indigenous rights activist in 2016 sentenced to jail terms
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), along with Reps. Jan Schakowsky (IL) and Mark Pocan (WI) , sponsors of "The Berta Cáceres Human Rights in Honduras Act" that calls for the suspension of U.S. funding to the Republic of Honduras for its police and military operations, issued the following statement in response to news that some of those responsible for Berta's murder received prison sentences:
