He has also backed legislation that protects consumers, ensures fair wages, and safeguards families from financial exploitation. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) announced today that he successfully passed several key amendments in the FY16 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) this week. In an 18-hour marathon session, the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) considered hundreds of amendments to the spending legislation. The following are several key amendments Rep. Cosponsors legislation with Democrats in House, Senate to raise the federal minimum wage to $12.00 by the year 2020, eliminate the subminimum tipped wage system and ensure the wage rises in keeping with the growth of median wages.
