CONYERS, GA –Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), announced that the Conyers Police Department and the Rockdale County Sheriff's Department are receiving federal grants to help boost their community policing efforts.

The Conyers Police Department is receiving $132,000 and the Rockdale Sheriff's Department is receiving $125,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services or COPS.

A delegation of six Congressmembers from the U.S. House of Representatives met today with President Geingob to encourage U.S.-Namibia partnership on global health, security, bilateral trade, climate change, racial justice, and other priorities that the two democracies share.

The delegation is led by Congressmember Karen Bass of California, who is the Chair of the House of Representatives' Sub-Committee on Africa, Global Health, and Global Human Rights. She and five other Congressmembers arrived in Namibia on Thursday during a visit to the region.
