Rep. Hank Johnson: Help for Homeowners
June 9, 2011
Dear Friends, I’m co-hosting a community event next weekend to help struggling homeowners avoid foreclosure. ![]() While foreclosure rates remain high in DeKalb, Rockdale and Gwinnett counties, I’m going to do everything I can to help turn this around. I’ve been battling foreclosures since I was a county commissioner, and I’m still fighting as a congressman. I’m pleased we’ll have more than 20 mortgage lenders on hand to begin the process of helping homeowners, who have fallen behind on their mortgages. For more information and a list of lenders and counselors, click HERE. This free event will offer homeowners a chance to meet one on one with their lenders, find out if they qualify for President Obama’s Making Home Affordable program and explore other options to address challenges facing homeowners in this difficult economic environment. ![]() ● Monthly mortgage statement ● Information about other mortgages on your home, if applicable ● Two most recent pay stubs, documents of income you receive from other sources or most recent quarterly profit and loss statement if you are self-employed ● Two most recent bank statements ● Unemployment insurance letter ● Documentation of income you receive from other sources: alimony, child support, social security, etc. ● Account balances and monthly payments for credit cards and other debts ● Estimates of your monthly expenditures (such as utilities, insurance and medical bills) WHAT: “Help for Homeowners” Community Event WHEN: Friday, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Saturday, June 18 from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. WHERE: Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337 For more information, call the Homeowners HOPETM Hotline at 1-888-995-HOPE (4673) or visit MakingHomeAffordable.gov or HopeNow.com.
