Please Prepare as Arctic Blast Arrives
While today's temperatures are about average for this time of year, that’s all going to change overnight.
By tomorrow morning, we’re going to be waking up to temperatures not seen (or felt) for more than 7 years – it’s going to drop into the teens in Atlanta and be even colder in the mountains.
From the AJC: A wind chill advisory is scheduled to take effect for all of North Georgia at midnight tonight and remain in place through Saturday at noon. A wind chill warning is in place for the mountains. The National Weather Service anticipates sustained winds of 15 to 20 mph with frequent gusts up to 40 mph, making the bitter cold feel even colder and creating conditions for hypothermia.
Please take every precaution to stay safe and make sure your loved ones, the elderly and vulnerable are inside and out of harm’s way. To find the nearest warming station in DeKalb County, click HERE. For Gwinnett, click HERE. For a general overview, click HERE.
