Rep. Johnson’s statement on the Passing of Justice John Paul Stevens

WASHINGTON, D.C – Judiciary Committee member and Chairman of the Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet subcommittee Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) issued the following statement on the passing of retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens at the age of 99:

"Justice John Paul Stevens was a true guardian of the rule of law. With his signature humility, independence and pragmatism, Justice Stevens brought the country and the Supreme Court closer to realizing the Constitution's promises of impartial justice, equal protection and due process. As the nation mourns the loss of a legal giant, my heart goes out to his family and loved ones."
