Rep. Johnson holding Meet & Greet at Historic Courthouse in Covington

April 5, 2013

COVINGTON, GA – On Saturday, April 6, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) is hosting a Meet & Greet with elected officials, faith and community leaders and the public at the Historic Courthouse on the square in Covington.

Rep. Johnson will discuss the budget and the economy, tax reform and comprehensive immigration reform. The event is free and open to the public. Georgia’s Fourth Congressional district encompasses parts of DeKalb, Rockdale, Gwinnett and Newton counties, including Covington.

“It’s a chance for Newton County residents to meet me and for me to hear from Newton residents about their thoughts and concerns,” said Rep. Johnson.

The meet and greet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will also inform Newton residents the services the Congressional office provides, including help with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, foreclosure prevention, equal employment opportunity commission, immigration, grants, FEMA, military academies, veterans benefits and much more.

Congressman Johnson’s office is working with Covington Mayor Randy Johnston to provide office space at City Hall so constituent services representatives can meet with Newton County constituents who need help with a federal agency.
