Congressman Johnson's Statement on the Supreme Court Leak Investigation

Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet in the 117th Congress, released the following statement in response to the report released on the Supreme Court’s investigation into the leak of the draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:

“Given Rev. Schenk’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee that it was his understanding that Justice Alito leaked the Hobby Lobby outcome in 2014, I’m not clear why it appears the justices themselves were not part of the investigation into the Dobbs leak. As long as the court has a transparency problem, the trust and confidence of the American people in the court and the far-right justices’ rulings will continue to erode.”
