Congressman Johnson's Statement on the death of Congressman John Conyers Jr.

DECATUR, GA – Senior Judiciary Committee member and Chairman of the Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet subcommittee, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) released the following statement after learning of the passing of former Congressman John Conyers Jr. of Detroit:
"Congressman John Conyers was a civil rights pioneer and progressive giant. He led on the MLK holiday bill, reparations, and universal single payer health care, among many other forward-thinking, enlightened legislation. A founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, he was a wise mentor to me and many others, and I will miss him greatly. My condolences to his wife and two sons."
