Congressman Johnson Welcomes New Senior Legislative Assistant to Capitol Hill Office
WASHINGTON, D.C — Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) announced today that he hired Estefanía L. Rodriguez as his new Senior Legislative Assistant.
Rodriguez will staff Rep. Johnson for his responsibilities on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee as well as handle his legislative portfolio dealing with his environment/natural resources, financial services and small business legislation.
“Congressman Johnson has a reputation as a serious, substantive lawmaker,” said Rodriguez. “I’m excited to join his team in Washington and in Georgia, who are serving the people of Fourth Congressional District of Georgia.”
Rodriguez previously worked for Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán (CA-44) managing issues before the Committee on Homeland Security, such as family separation and election security.
She began her career on Capitol Hill in 2012 as a staffer for Congressman Pedro R. Pierluisi (PR-AL).
During her nearly four years of working for the district of Puerto Rico, Rodriguez helped pass bankruptcy protections for the island, secured additional Medicaid funding for the territory, and managed relief efforts in response to hurricanes and the Zika epidemic.
Rodriguez received her B.A. in History from the University of Florida and her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law. She is a member of the D.C. Bar.
