Congressman Hank Johnson, FWD.us, and the Latino Community Fund of Georgia To Host Virtual Panel On Immigrant Essential Workers
Chorus of Georgians To Come Together to Highlight the Essential Work of Our State's Immigrant Community
ATLANTA, GA – There are nearly 23 million immigrant essential workers in the United States, including 170,000 undocumented immigrants in Georgia, who are serving our country in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. These immigrant community members contribute to key industries, including agriculture, transportation, health care, and more. To adequately respond to and recover from the pandemic, it's critical that immigrant essential workers and the broader undocumented community are provided with a pathway to citizenship so they are able to fully contribute to Georgia's health and economic recovery.
To highlight the immigrant community's essential contributions and discuss the necessary reforms to support them and our pandemic response, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), FWD.us, and the Latino Community Fund of Georgia are proud to host the Immigrant Essential Workers Panel on Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
This panel will bring together business, health care, and immigration experts to uplift the stories and foster the conversations necessary to help all Georgians understand the essential role immigrants are playing.
