Chairman Johnson's Statement on Epic Games v. Apple Ruling
ATLANTA, GA -- Today, House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet Chairman Hank Johnson (GA-04) issued the following statement after a federal judge found that Apple had engaged in anticompetitive conduct but did not violate the federal antitrust laws:
"The Court's decision today, while a good first step for developers' rights, still falls short," said Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04), chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet. "It underscores why we must pass the Open App Markets Act, which I introduced last month with my colleague Ken Buck. This bill is crucial to holding big tech accountable and level the playing field for small businesses and app developers, and today's ruling does not preclude the need for it to become law."
