Emergency Rental Assistance Town Hall This Thursday!
Dear Friends,
This Thursday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 PM, I'm joining District 5 DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson's virtual town hall meeting about the county's Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
It's part of the federally funded initiative I supported to help tenants who were impacted by COVID-19 remain in their homes during the pandemic and make landlords whole. DeKalb County has received more than $21 million for these purposes, and it is critical that eligible DeKalb County residents know how to access this funding. If you're a DeKalb resident behind on your rent or you're a landlord who has not been able to collect rent due to COVID-19, this town hall is for you.
DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond and Javoyne Hicks, the clerk of DeKalb's state and magistrate courts, will also be on hand to answer your questions and help you apply for relief. For more information or to register, click HERE.
Gwinnett County received more than $28 million from the federal government for this program. For Gwinnett residents seeking help, please visit: https://www.gwinnettcounty.com/web/gwinnett/departments/financialservices/grants/emergencyrentalassistanceprogram
Rockdale and Newton County residents and landlords seeking assistance must apply through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The state of Georgia received more than $500 million for this program. To apply, visit: https://georgiarentalassistance.ga.gov/.
Again — for Thursday's event, please register HERE.
As always, I appreciate your time and feedback. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to represent you in Congress. If you have an issue with a federal government agency, need help with an eviction or a foreclosure, please don't hesitate to call my district office at 770-987-2291. Thank you!
