WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Henry C. “Hank” Johnson, Jr. (GA-04) today made the following statement today after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted 3-2 to rollback rules on Net Neutrality.

“I condemn the FCC decision today to do away with Net Neutrality. U.S. taxpayers paid for the research and development of the World Wide Web, and we deserve for the Internet to remain a platform open to all content treated equally and without discrimination.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, as Ranking Member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, & Emergency Management, Rep. Johnson examined impact of opioid crisis in Appalachia.   

Rep. Johnson focused on the importance of the Affordable Care Act in combating the opioid crisis and how economic development is effected by the explosive use of opioids in places such as North Georgia, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Congressman Reports more than $400,000 from DOJ for Conyers’ Police Department to Hire 4 More Officers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Hank Johnson (GA-04), a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, announced that the Conyers Police Department is receiving more than $440,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services or COPS.

The grants will be used to fund four additional officers in Conyers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Rep.Johnson joined with House Democratic colleagues in signing a petition to force a vote on the bipartisan DREAM Act, which would provide a permanent solution to allow young undocumented immigrants brought here as children to remain in this country legally.  If the petition is signed by a majority of members, the House would be forced to take a vote on this legislation.  Rep. Johnson also called on Republicans to participate in this effort to force a vote.

CLARKSTON, GA -- On Sept. 18, Congressman Hank Johnson hosted his small business Think Tank to connect more than 100 small business owners with federal resources.

Held at Georgia Piedmont Technical College campus in Clarkston, the event included one-on-one sessions, panel discussions and a working lunch roundtable.
