Representing the 4th District of Georgia

Congressman Hank Johnson’s

Congressman Johnson's "Get Lit-A-Tour," is a district-wide initiative inviting all youth to "Get Lit –er-acy," as they tour the options they have to further their education and sharpen their skills while they contemplate their future.

The 4th Congressional District’s “Get Lit-A-Tour” will highlight information about various opportunities that are available to students via the programs and competitions that Congressman Johnson provides anually to our youth and young adults.

Congressman Johnson realizes that many students are in a place where they are undecided, unsure and unaware when it comes to their many options. The goal of this initiative is to share information about various opportunities that can ultimately help young people make educated decisions about their future, as well as close the achievement gap that we are currently experiencing in our community.

“The Get Lit-A-Tour,” is an exciting event for youth to gain literacy in critical areas such as finances and S.T.E.A.M. The tour will ultimately light a spark in our youth and give them the confidence they need to take a hold of their life and their future goals and aspirations. This tour will introduce initiatives such as, but not limited to: The Congressional Art Competition, Service Academy nominations, Congressional App Challenge, and Congressional Black Caucus Scholarships.

At each stop on the tour, we will have several invited guests to help us stress the importance of concepts such as financial literacy and keep the air filled with excitment to keep the kids "lit" for something positive that will have an impact on themselves, their family and their community.
