Do you have the leadership, character, and commitment to serve something greater than yourself? A nomination to one of our nation's prestigious Service Academies could be your first step toward a world-class education, leadership development, and a commission as a military officer.

Congressman Hank Johnson is honored to nominate exceptional students from Georgia's Fourth Congressional District to our nation's Service Academies.

Application Deadline

Monday, October 26, 2026, by 5:00 PM

Applications received after the deadline cannot be considered.

Eligible Service Academies

A Congressional nomination is required for admission to:

• U.S. Military Academy (West Point)
• U.S. Naval Academy
• U.S. Air Force Academy
• U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

Please Note: The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional nomination.

How to Apply

Step 1

Apply directly to the Service Academy of your choice.

Step 2

Submit your Congressional Nomination Application to Congressman Hank Johnson's office.

Your application packet should include:

• Completed Service Academy Nomination Application
• Recent headshot or photograph
• Two letters of recommendation
• Official academic transcript
• SAT or ACT scores
  • ACT Code: 7354
  • SAT Code: 1530

Who May Apply?

Applicants must reside in Georgia's Fourth Congressional District.

If you are unsure of your district, please verify your Congressional Representative before submitting your application.

Interview Process

Qualified applicants will be invited to interview before the Service Academy Nomination Review Board on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

Interview information will be provided after applications have been reviewed.

Each Member of Congress has a limited number of nominations available.

We strongly encourage you to also apply for nominations through:

Applying through multiple nomination sources can significantly increase your opportunity to receive a nomination.
