Early Voting Locations for the 2016 Presidential Preference Primary Election

YOU MUST GO TO YOUR ASSIGNED PRECINCT ON ELECTION DAY ON TUESDAY, MARCH 1

All voters must bring to the polls one of the six forms of photo ID: Georgia drivers license, even if expired; valid photo ID card issued by any state or the U.S. government; U.S passport; government employee photo ID card; United States military ID card with photo; tribal ID card with photo.

There is no voting on Monday, Feb. 29, the day before the Presidential Preference Primary Election. Voters can check their registration status and obtain other information by visiting the secretary of state website at sos.ga.govhttps://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do and click on “Elections.”

Registered voters may request absentee ballots for the election by sending a letter to their county board of elections and including the voter’s name and address as registered, date of birth, election date (3-1-16), address where the ballot should be mailed, daytime phone number, email address if available, party preference (Republican or Democrat) and signature. If the request is made by a relative, the relative must sign and state his or her relationship to the voter.

The boards of elections will mail absentee ballots through Feb. 26. The voter must assure the ballot is received by his or her board of elections by 7 p.m. on March 1, and may drop it off in person if not mailed.

Newton County Administration Building, 113 Usher Street, Covington—will be as follows: Monday through Friday, Feb. 8-26, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday voting will be available at the Usher Street county building on Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Porter Memorial Branch Library—during the week of Feb. 22-26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Porter Memorial Branch Library is located at 6191 Ga. Highway 212, Covington.

ROCKDALE

Early Voting Locations:

According to Cynthia Welch, director of the Rockdale County Board of Elections, the early voting hours in Rockdale are Monday-Friday, Feb. 8-19, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 22-23, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and there will be extended hours on Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 24-26, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
