Congressional Art Competition

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. This national competition calls upon high school students of all backgrounds and skill sets to submit their art for the chance to showcase their winning pieces in their congressional district as well as in the U.S. Capitol. Participating students will have an opportunity to win scholarships and other prizes. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

“Art can have so many interpretations and cross so many boundaries, while still bringing folks together. This annual competition allows our students to share a piece of their lives with us through their works,” said Rep. Johnson. “Whether it be a message of protest or one of strictly fun and pleasantries; I look forward to what our students will put forth.”

The deadline to submit artwork for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition is Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Please complete the form below. For more information, please contact Kaitlyn Brewster in my office at kaitlyn.brewster@mail.house.gov or call 770-987-2291.
